On an autumn afternoon, the charm of calligraphy lingers. In order to help students develop good writing habits and standardize the writing of Chinese characters, the West District of the Junior High School Department of our school held a competition on standard character writing for the seventh graders in the lecture hall.
To be concrete, during the competition, within the confined space, students focused their attention and began to write. Meanwhile, a single dot and a horizontal line represented discipline and order with each stroke showcasing students' expertise. Moreover, the tip of the pen made a rustling sound on the paper, either vigorous and powerful or elegant and neat, all of which revealed the beauty of the structure of Chinese characters.
In addition, after the competition, the seventh-grade Chinese teaching preparation group conducted a rigorous review of the works, meticulously examining aspects such as the norms, structure and composition, and selecting the best among the excellent ones.
To conclude, we refine students' character through words and cultivate their personality through culture. More remarkably, not only did this activity provide a platform for students to showcase their writing skills, but also ignited their passion for Chinese character writing, strengthening the awareness of 'writing while holding the pen', which was beneficial for correcting students' poor writing habits in daily life. Therefore, the informative event is of great significance for enhancing students' comprehensive language skills, cultivating their aesthetic tastes, and strengthening their cultural confidence, which adds a rich and prominent element to the campus cultural construction.
